We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Procurement team. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will play a key role as the commercial and operational link between our supply partners and the packhouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective stock management by maintaining accurate on site stock levels tomeet packhouse requirements, while monitoring packing yields and any outgrades produced.
- Monitor contract movement and completion, ensuring each supplier delivers against agreed volumes and timelines.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the supply base to ensure reliable, high-quality sourcing.
- Manage the complex transition between different crop seasons (e.g., Import season to UK season) smoothly, ensuring continuity of supply and consistent quality.
Requirements:
- Degree level or equivalent education, or relevant practical experience within a commercial or analytical environment.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and support decision making.
- Basic understanding of cost control and margin awareness, with a willingness to develop further commercial knowledge.
- Ability to monitor contract performance and track volumes accurately with guidance.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail when working with contracts, intake data, and grower returns.
Desirable:
- Experience within fresh produce (particularly potatoes), agriculture, or another commodity based environment.
- Exposure to contract discussions, supplier pricing conversations, or early involvement in commercial negotiations.
- Familiarity with ERP or stock management systems, with a willingness to develop stronger systems capability.
